WrapUp to Christmas Rewind

The Rewind for December was amazing! New faces everytime we REWIND? You can't beat that! Smiling faces, dancing feet, and mingling ladies all from Greenville's Finest Grown & Sexy in the LGBT community!
We are One whether you want to be or not. Though we may not seem to understand things WE ABSOLUTELY do not judge Anyone without Exception! For Ladies Only is organized by two lesbians so when we communicate that is the stand point that we communicate from...Lesbians.  Please do not take offense or be led by misguided people that have no clue. We want everyone to have a drama free fun time at all of our events. We're gonna REWIND in a positive light! Help us do that by attending our events every First Saturday.

Nelson Mandela has Passed Away!

Nelson Mandela 95, anti-apartheid and Father of South Africa has departed from us. One who emerged from prison after spending 27 years there to lead South Africa out of decades of apartheid.  This was announced late today, Thursday 12/5/2013.He was truly a hero to both blacks and whites.  He was a moral compass for South Africa in the days of healing from the scars of apartheid.
His presence will be missed but is work still lives.

For Ladies Only Getaways

We have some exciting For Ladies Only Getaways planned!  Nik and I are always excited when we can bring like minded women together. I know there has been at least one time that you have been single and didn't have anywhere to meet other women. Just wished you could go somewhere you didn't have to wonder that Big question...Is she gay? Now don't get me wrong we mingle with straight crowds but Love to mingle with the lgbt community. After all, we may cater to women but our parties are open to All. With this in mind we are including you in trips that we have planned for ourselves. If you are a member of the online group we would appreciate it, if you would accept the consideration of responding to the events that we post. 
We want everyone to enjoy our next planned trip in 2014. There will be a trip to Harrah's Cherokee in February $40 round trip $20 food and/or game credit (details will be on facebook Flo Getaways event page). Deposits are still being accepted for the Freakfest 2014 All Girl Exreavaganza in Florida.  And if you haven't seen the details check the event page.  That is, as long as you're 25+. We have to party with adults, children get you into trouble.  Sometimes adults can let their high school side come out and we always ask that you leave her/him at home too! We don't do Drama AT ALL!
The last bus trip we organized was to Atlanta, Ga. which aided in building new friendships. This trip along with others is designed to do the same -build association while having fun! Keep FLO'in

For Ladies Only Getaways

Did you hear about the travel group we created for women that love the company of other women?  Well, let me tell you about it.  First off its for women that's 25 years of age or older.  And we have both day trips and over night trips scheduled.  For Ladies Only just ask that if you're not going to participate there's no need to be apart of the group.  After all, its not like you pay dues we just want the commitment as a way of uniting.  This is something that usually doesn't seem to be done in our local community here in Greenville, SC.   So, as a way to sort of bridging the gap of unity among women we decided to not only have monthly parties to attend but also incorporate traveling.
Some of the events we list we do not sponsor and it will just be for information purposes only.  As of now, we are on Facebook but we do have a website www.floentertainmentgroup.com that will give you some incite on our monthly Rewind Party, pictures of events, etc.

Top Turkey Tips

Tip:
1.  Always thaw turkey in the refrigerator. The safest way to be sure it's thawed out is 5hrs per pound.

2.  For crispier skin, unwrap turkey the day before cooking

3.  Low heat and high heat cooking has its advantages.  Cook the turkey an average of 20 minutes per pound at 325' F. If you don't mind splitting the turkey you can cook it at 8 minutes per pound on 450'F

4.  To cook evenly Do Not pack turkey full of stuffing.  Cooks better with celery, bell pepper, onions, garlic, & carrots fitting loosely in cavity. Cook stuffing with stock of turkey separately

5.  Leave turkey untrussed

6.  Scatter cut up chunks of onion garlic etc both inside cavity and in pan to aide in seasoning the stock. This will add tons of flavor!

7.  Remove your turkey when the thickest part between the leg and the breast reads 165'F

8. Once done tent it loosely with foil for a half an hour before carving.  Can sit up to an hour before it starts to cool.

9.  Carve using the sharpest knife possible.  Take the legs and wings off first. Cut straight through the joint.
           ENJOY!!!!

Thanksgiving for Us.

In twelve years Nik and I have spent less than half of our Thanksgivings together during the day. But we always come together at night and share food from relatives and laugh about who did what.

  The last time I even desired to cook such a big dinner was three years ago. I remember that was the year I decided I would invite everyone and my aunt passed away so that was a no go for me.

  Nik and I have been together so long I think we both understand that we like to be with our family and agree to come together later that night.  Its almost as if it were a date night of family stories between us. Laughing, crying, and sharing.  What an awesome feeling it is to have someone to share the little things. Two more days left til Turkey Day!

Holiday Drink Recipe

 EGG NOG MARTINI

1 part Egg Nog

1 part Captain Morgan Spiced Rum

1 part Vodka

1 part whipped cream vodka

Ice

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. nutmeg

Mix together the nutmeg and cinnamon. Dip the the rim of the martini glass in a bit of vodka, then place the glass rim into the cinnamon and nutmeg mixture until the rim is coated.

In a shaker mix together egg nog, Spiced Rum, Vodka, Whipped Cream Vodka and Ice. Shake it up and pour in 4 glasses

JACK FROST

4 cups ice cubes

1 c pineapple juice chilled

1/2 c blue curacao

1/2 c rum

1/2 c cream of coconut

4 slices of pineapple

Blend all until smooth and pour into 4 glasses. Garnish the rim with coconut (optional)

Review:  This drink was good reminded me of a drink Nik likes, Gorilla Punch.  I can do without the coconut garnish though.

25 African Americans Thrown Out of Wild Wings in Charleston, SC

Just when we thought racism was all over here it comes again.  Wouldn't you know it? In South Carolina.  All because a white woman said she felt threatened.  I can't believe the manager acted on that statement along with the fact that she was referencing her complaint to 25 African-American people.  We LOVED Wild Wings too.  I guess Buffalo Wild Wings it is from now on.  Read it here:

Facebook and You

Facebook.Filled with loathes of information and connections with people. Its just abused by some to either build up their self esteem or put down someone else's. We try to post positive things to help others though sometimes side tracked by negative posts intended for one person but sent to the masses. Social media is now used as a tool to hide behind because most of the time the people that are spoken negatively about are not being confronted at all.  Consequently, Facebook has become like the shows we implement at the REWIND.  I wish THAT chain could be broken. Afterall, Likes doesnt make you RIGHT...it just means that a lot of people Hear you!
Truly, if you are past high school and STILL posting indirect messages to someone...its time for a Reality check.  Grow up and Pray because there's a problem.  Why would a grown adult use social media for venting? Think about it.  We should be able to talk things out and stop the social media bullying and chaos.  Peace.  Join the FLO!

The Christmas Rewind UPDATE

We believe EVERYONE is excited once again about Dec. 7, the upcoming REWIND!  Every month seems like a new face of performers. There will be Grown & Sexy entertaining fun, ladies, giveaways, Great music with Love the DJ & DJ Dukey.  We are excited because from the response so are you.  In the past it seemed as though most of the performers were members of a House.  There was a lack of participation among females.  We want to change part of that with the REWIND! We are targeting FEMALES to perform so we can entertain ourselves by having our own shows.

Going to see BEST MAN HOLIDAY?

Okay folks we've heard This time you'd better get your tissues ready. Nik and I just saw the original movie last night so we could update ourselves.  And it was like watching it for the first time to me because it has been so long (1999).  At the end of the movie i said the same thing that most probably said.... "I can't wait to see Best Man Holiday".  Well, the word is...get your tissue box ready for this one.  Nik went to get our tickets and heard it from some guys that were coming out of the theater and the same thing on face book.  Well, I'm pretty sensitive anyway.  Hope Nik isn't mad about that $30 ticket price for 2 tickets.  Yes, i wanted to listen to it in RPX, which is a larger screen and better sound- go figure.  Two lucky winners of the tickets only paid $2 in our raffle at the last Rewind! If you missed the last Rewind there will be another one Saturday Dec. 7 9p-2a.

Follow up:   The movie was awesome.  We went from laughing to crying to laughing again. The extra sound effects and the seats were so comfortable we felt like we were at home.

Christmas Rewind Saturday 12/7/13

We're getting ready for our Christmas Rewind and are excited to see our patrons again.  After all, we meet every First Saturday to do our Grown & Sexy 'thang'!  We love the crowd and our Rewind Dj's Love the DJ and DJ Dukey, they always keep everybody hyped on the dance floor. We look for to the once month mature atmosphere that comes out to support us.  If there is any females interested in doing a show let us know. Where are open to all sorts of entertainment. If you're a singer, let us hear you sing via video or audio and you could be on the show(we do screen our entertainment to cater to our audience). Come FLO on First Saturdays with For Ladies Only!

Why For Ladies Only Exist

For Ladies Only exist to build unity among women that love women in the Upstate of South Carolina and surrounding areas.  Our group intends to organize events that are created for and by local women that love women.
Nik and I (Lady) began on Facebook in October of 2012 and our goal from that point was the same as it is now, to form a since of Unity.  Since then we are achieving that by organizing events where new friendships have been found. Our first party was for St. Patrick's Day 2013, then we brought the ladies Pretty P in May 2013, which that was her first time in the South Carolina,we're proud to say.  August 2013 we organized a bus trip to Atlanta featuring Pretty P again, and there were new friendships formed at that time as well. Now, we plan to continue to form new relationships and strengthen existing ones between like minded women in our community through what is called the REWIND.  The Rewind is a once a month event that is gilded towards women and entertainment among the like.  However, all of the lgbt community is invited.
